Shelf Problem, Solved

So, I had these shelves in my bathroom that I loved, but couldn't find anything to put on them.

Well, I managed to find some things at some unlikely places.  Here is what it looks like now:
I got that big vase-thing at Kroger Marketplace!  I love that store- they have so many awesome things besides groceries.  And it was only about $10 on sale.  The other candles/holders I got at Meijer.  I went in for some Starbucks, and there was a sign that said "Be back in 5 minutes." so I was forced to walk around for a while.  And so glad I did!  It was just what I was looking for!  And to top it off, that tall candle was $7.99, but when I rang it up (I was doing the self checkout thing), it rang up $0.49!  Yay for me!  So, I no longer have two sad looking shelves in the bathroom any longer.  Whew!

Hand Towel Aprons

My next craft is something I saw in a boutique in Nashville while visiting my sister-in-law.  It is a half apron with a strip of fabric stitched across the top, then another one around the bottom.  I thought they were so cute, and so simple!  So, of course I didn't buy one!  I made my own!

Pretty cute, huh??

Calendar Covers

Lately, I have been getting my sewing machine out here and there to keep my craft desire satisfied.  Here is one project I have been working on:

It is a cover for my calendar at school.  The one on the left is my new one and the one on the right is my one from last year.  I always try to match it to my binder and notebook.  I get really excited about new school supplies- I guess that's why I'm a teacher!

Paint, Paint, and More Paint!

I have been very busy again working on our place!  Today I painted a hallway a blueish gray color.  It was formerly white and drab.  Then I hung some wedding pictures in the wall in some simple black frames.  I love the way it looks and can't wait to continue with our home makeover!

Here is a picture of the hallway (I wish I would have taken a "before" picture!)

I got those frames at Target- LOVE that store!

Here is a picture of the half bath I redecorated (again, wish I would have taken a before pic):
It used to be bright blue!  I got those shelves at IKEA- they were really easy to install and fit perfectly in that space.  I also really love IKEA and will be doing some more shopping there very soon!

Here is a wall in our master bath- it was a little hard to take a picture of the whole bath because I couldn't get a good angle, so I just zoomed in on the part I wanted to talk about.  This is the same color as our hallway, only in semigloss.
So, here are some shelves I hung on the wall.  I am not sure what to put on them now!  I think I might do a rusty red color as accents, but can't find anything I like.  The shelves are so little that I can't put anything too big or heavy on them!  I guess I'll be going back to IKEA, ahhhh- if I must!

Welcome!

Welcome to my blog!  I have been reading so many crafty blogs that I was inspired to create my own.  Because that's what I do- see something I like and then make it myself!  Through this blog, I will share with you my craft projects.

I have a small business called Lynn & Lucy.  You can check it out here.  I started with making handbags and accessories, but have moved on to all kinds of things!

I recently got married and moved into my husband's (now our's) downtown loft.  So, there isn't much room to leave my sewing machine set up and ALL of my supplies.  So, my sewing is on the back-burner for now.  Here is a picture of my husband and me:

That hasn't stopped me from being creative though!  I have been quite busy actually.  See, I teach 4th grade, so I have been off this summer.  I have been working on cute calendars and calendar covers (two unrelated things), aprons, and redecorating our place!  I have already done 2 bathroom makeovers, and we are about to do a kitchen makeover.  We want it to be nicer for us, but also to sell!  We need something a little bigger (so I can get my craft on).
